How to find a suitable foot mask processing factory for a brand: investigation, cooperation, and process guide
In the current segmented foot care market, foot mask products have become a category for many brands due to their clear usage scenarios and considerable potential for repurchase. However, finding a foot mask processing factory that matches the brand stage and product positioning is not simply a matter of comparing prices or looking at brochures. We need a practical assessment method, clear pre-set cooperation conditions, and smooth process management.
1、 Inspect the processing plant and start from four dimensions
1. Factory qualifications and production environment
Foot film belongs to the category of cosmetics. The factory must have a cosmetics production license, and the licensed items include the corresponding categories of "general liquid unit" or "cream lotion unit". When visiting the factory, pay attention to the air purification level of the workshop, the sealing condition of the filling line, and the temperature and humidity records of the raw material warehouse. A well managed factory should have traceable production logs and cleaning records, with no odor or disorderly stacking on site.
2. Formula development and sampling capabilities
Foot mask formula involves moisturizers, film-forming agents, anti-corrosion systems, and possible active ingredient additives. The factory can be requested to provide sample cases of past foot film products and inquire about the sample cycle (usually 7-15 working days). During the sampling stage, the brand can provide target usage scenarios, such as "home night repair type" or "quick brightening type before going out", and observe whether the factory formulator can adjust the skin feel, film formation speed, and film fabric fit.
3. Membrane and Packaging Supply Chain Management
Half of the foot mask experience comes from the membrane cloth. It is necessary to investigate whether the film fabric supplier cooperating with the factory is stable and whether there are alternative solutions. Meanwhile, the inventory and incoming inspection records of packaging materials such as aluminum foil bags, outer boxes, and sealing stickers can also reflect the factory's level of control over details.
4. Quality control system and testing standards
You can refer to the factory's factory inspection report to understand whether it has conducted viscosity, pH value, heat and cold resistance stability, and microbial index testing on each batch of products. For foot masks claiming specific efficacy, the factory should be able to provide a third-party testing pathway for corresponding efficacy evaluation reports, rather than verbal promises.
2、 Clarify cooperation conditions to avoid future disagreements
After determining the intended factory, both parties need to reach a written consensus on the following conditions:
Minimum order quantity: Based on the brand's first order sales forecast, negotiate a reasonable MOQ (minimum order quantity). Some factories support gradient minimum order, and the first batch can be appropriately reduced to test the market.
Price composition: specify material cost, film and fabric cost, filling and processing cost, packaging material procurement cost, and loss rate. The loss rate is generally agreed to be between 2% and 5%, and any excess will be borne by the factory.
Payment terms and payment: The usual method is 30% deposit+70% payment before shipment, or negotiating a letter of credit or other fair terms for both parties.
Intellectual property ownership: If it is an exclusive formula or film design of the brand, the ownership of the formula and the copyright of the packaging material drawings should be stated in the contract as belonging to the brand.
3、 Collaboration Process: Standard Path from Matching to Mass Production
A complete process can be divided into six stages:
Requirement communication: The brand provides product concepts, target selling prices, usage scenarios, and initial packaging design drafts.
Formula sampling: The factory prepares 1-3 samples according to the requirements and sends them to the brand for internal experience testing.
Sample sealing confirmation: The brand provides feedback on modification suggestions, and the factory adjusts until both parties jointly seal the standard sample.
Trial production of packaging materials: After the packaging materials arrive at the factory, small batch filling tests are conducted to verify the sealing and film cloth infiltration effects.
Mass production: After entering formal production according to the schedule, the brand can send personnel to the factory to follow up or request process sampling.
Factory release and logistics: The factory provides a factory inspection report, and the brand arranges logistics delivery after the goods are inspected and qualified.
